Annual Children Buddhist Conference (CHIBUCON) is going to be conducted on 24th (Sunday) and 25th (Monday) of December, 2023, at Trichy.

Trichy is a centre place of Tamilnadu and well connected to all major cities of India by air, train and bus. The weather will be very pleasant here in December. The first conference was held in virtual mode and second ‘live’ conference was held at Hotel PLA Rathna residency, Trichy. Our third conference was held at Hotel Breeze Residency, Trichy. This is our fourth conference which will be conducted at the same venue. Hotel ‘Breeze Residency’, is located near central bus stand and railway junction.

This year’s conference theme is “The mind is everything. What you think you become”. It is an unique conference organized ‘by the children for the children’ to teach Buddhism, explore hidden talents, strengthen Buddhist unity and to empower our future generation. With overwhelming response and great expectations from the children and parents, we made it as an one and half days event since last year. The conference will be started with flag hoisting by the organizing chairman, followed by candle lighting of Buddha and Babasaheb Dr.Ambedkar portraits by chief guests. Following Buddha Vandana, various Buddhism related topics will be addressed by the students in an international standard.

Chief guest Mr.Punithapandian, Editor, ‘Dalit Murasu’ will address on the topic of ‘Buddhism in Tamilnadu – what Thanthai Periyar did ?”.

Lot of preconference events like quiz, drawing competitions will be conducted ‘on line’. Stage entertainment program like music, dance and drama are planned on Sunday night with gala dinner. Special platform was created for college students last year, likewise women wing will be included this year. Valedictory function with prize distribution and parent felicitations will be the highlight. Nearly 200 plus participants are expected to register, the whole event will be recorded and ‘live telecast’ will be done.

This annual Buddhist conference for children is a concept conceived and implemented by the social service organization “Mass Movement for Transformation (MMT)” in association with the Buddhist Society of India(TN).
